Who here works their abductors, specifically?

    Who here works their adductors (inner thigh), specifically?

    I live with a Kinesiology student and he feels that doing squats and various deadlifts is not enough to fully work your abductors. Just wondering how many people here do specific exercises for their abductors, since they are a rather large muscle in your legs.

    That wouldn't really do much but get the blood flowing tho right? I'm talking about using abductor exercsies for gains aside from squats, i'd assume that doing squats + abductor exercsies would seriously boost your squatting as well since you use your abductor magnus as a synergist

    just the adductor/abductor machine for now

    2-3 sets for 10-12 reps for adductor and abductor

    i do them as the last exercise on my leg days too, usually only 1x a week though

    Ya i was thinking of doing the same, i dont have time for doing anymore than that, my days are already full maybe ill drop leg pressing, i think its kinda unessceray if your squatting, same damn muscles

    Side Squats, speed skaters, side dragging, adductor machine,4 way hip facing, banded adductor work

    haha...once back in the day i had to stay home from school because i completely wrecked my abductors. It was all fun and games the day before at the gym, the next day i tried to stand up when i got out of bed and literally fell down...i could barely walk that day. My god i used to be a lazy bastard.

    AD-ductors are the inside of your thighs, AB-ductors are your glute medius and minimus

    I meant to say adductors :o I know abductors get worked quite well when you do squats/deadlifts

    Side Squats = squats with a bar or db's done in the transverse plane, like a side lunge with a bar on your back

    Side dragging is just ankle dragging with a sled done sideways, back foot attached for the adductors, front foot attached for the abductors

    Speed skaters are done on a little slick piece of plastic or vinal with nylon boots over your shoes...or just buy some linoleum and spray pam on it and do them in socks....[​IMG]

    I have a friend of mine who was kinda fat but lost alot of weight and is kinda ripped now, anyways he does the abductor adductor machines at the gym. I always make fun of him since I think he is the only guy that does them, he said he was going to give me a list of benefits of doing them.
