1300 bucks? I don't know if it's worth it.
not I, its not true to the sig 550 series, which is what I wanted.
I've got one of the SWAT models on preorder. I'm not gay on the looks of the 550 series so I really don't care so much about how the 556 looks.
It's not that I mind it not looking like the other 550's. It could have been different, but nice different. Not fugly different. I already understand that the functionality might be there as a battle rifle, but the chances of me using it for other than assassinating paper is slim to none. So the looks do matter to me.
Looks are a matter of opinion too though. Personally I don't think it looks all that bad.
Retail price will be NO different than any AR-15 from Bushmasher or RRA.
looks kind of tactigay. why is it that every gun coming out has the m4gery butt stock.
Really? Thats seems optimistic, whats a rra entry run 800-900? If they can do it for that I might. If not, I probably won't.
I just added that new word to my vocabulary.
Most Bushy's are between $800 and $900 as well, the Sig 556 will be right around there. You may see a few gun shops and morons on gunbroker trying to get full MSRP at first, but that'll go away quickly.
Manufacturers are seeing sales helped by the availability of parts. Rather than spend the resources to make their own propriety accessories, it's easier to just tap into the current market.
And for that reason, while it's great that SIG is bringing a 55x to the US civi market and I've long pined for a 551, I think I'd rather put the money aside for Colt's new piston M4.
If it looked like a 556, then I'd consider it in the future.
As of now though, never unless I come across a good deal.
even then i'd probably buy something else
