seems like the large majority of people in here are grapplers, just wanna know who actually trains in some kind of striking art here.

    4 years mcDojo karate
    6 months capoera
2 years muay thai, still training muay thai

wow dochi that is a lot of korean martial arts. Do you still train any of those?

As for me, I am pretty good at striking my opponents fists and knees with my head.

1 year MT but very infrequent practice

nope, i havent practiced it since i was 17 years old, ill be 22 in january. ive been getting back into shape recently though, hitting the bags and trying to get my flexibility back.

ive also been in a lot of stupid street fights, and bar brawls. so i consider that as practice too, lol. my friends always tell me i need to stop stomping and kicking people in the head when i fight :o

10 years of Gosoku-ryu karate, and looking to take up MT. I've always preferred striking arts.

I personally really enjoy kicking fuckers in the face but am only now coming into having any usable boxing skill. I was always a kicking type in kung fu and it's translating over to my mixed rules sparring slowly as I get used to fighting in all different ranges.

honestly, it was a shitload of "fun" just because you learn alot of intricate spin kicks and fancy stuff, i stopped it only because i like to fight full contact, and capoera sparring is more of a game... BUT, i do think that crosstraining like that can never be detrimental, i still throw some capoera kicks or a jump spin kick in sparring every now and then :bigthumb:

4x/week MT/MMA kickboxing for about 11 months now

my favorite are huge knees to the mid/solar area ie lifting people off of the ground & of course tight power hooks from the clinch

knees ftw, almost broke a rib from one, not much that hurts more than a huge knee to the body.

seeing as how krav maga is a weird mix. i guess i'm sorta in. i'm much more comfortable standing up than taking it to the ground.
