Who here have injured their Calf Muscle before?

    I did and it's a bitch. We were playing bball and I heard/felt something pop behind my right leg (calf) and after that i wasn't able to put any pressure on it and could barely walk. How long did it take for it to heal for you? Also, how long before I stop using ice on it and start using warm compress? Thanks!

    i tore both my calves doing donkey raises. Took about 4 weeks of no physical activities. The first 2 weeks are hell b/c you can't stretch or move that leg.

    After the first 24 hours, you need to alternate heat and ice, 10-20 minutes each. Depending on how bad you hurt it, mine has taken anywhere from 1 week to 6 weeks to heal up.

    My buddy at work tore his right calf throwing a softball at a company game. Five inch vertical tear. Two docs thought it might have been weakened due to bumping up the weight on his heavy deadlifts and squats, but whatever. Took him 3 months to come back to work (couldn't drive).

    I tore my right calf landing funny in netball when I was about 16 years old. It took about 4 weeks to heal properly (I was sidelined for that long).
