2 plates is my goal.
185 was my best seated.
doubt it, i can only do 80's on seated DB press
i just added standing military bb presses to my routine (never done them before)
i can do 130x5
i wanna do that
seated like 135 or 155.
Preemo probably could.
I can rep 185 but I dont know about 2 plates. I doubt it.
I have shoulders tomorrow. Maybe I will try it out and let you guys know.
Speaking of military press, what's the exercise called where you lower the bar behind your head instead of in front?
more importantly, are those bad for your shoulders or lower back or anything? i'd thought someone here posted they were bad for some reason, so just need clarification
btw my form when i do them is nowhere near the pictures posted above. my elbows are wayyy out, basically in a wide-grip chin-up position on the bar. talk to me
edit: after looking at the pics again that's about how wide my arms are apart at the top of the movement, but since i go behind the head the elbows are sideways instead of facing outwardly in front
I can do handstand pushups if someone stabilizes me...that count?
if you weigh 225 and count that person like a smith machine, sure
I could probably do it, I have never tried. I can standing press, non-push, 8x185 and 5x205.
mmm not for me
i can do 130x5 standing or seated.
As a matter of fact I do...
305 x 3 seated w/ a fat bar
not as great as it sounds I weigh 290
I wouldn't be putting myself down if I were you... thats damn good
unless you're 3'6
ive done 225 x 4. 4th rep took an eternity
I did 225 seated like a year ago, havn't really gone that heavy since then.
Was reading an article by Bill Starr in which he states he would prefer a football palyer who can military press 250lbs over someone who can bench 400lbs. He goes on to say...
"I can assure you that the player who can handle a big overhead press will win any confrontation on the playing field with a big bencher."
He goes on to say...
"When I mentioned that overhead strength converts to all sports actiites, that included other exercises in the weight room. The 250lb presser will be able to lie on a bench and use at least 100lbs over his best military press. Yet it doesn't work the other way around. The 400lb bencher won't be able to overhead press 100lbs less than that. Not even close."
My best is 155x6 seated
365 for 4 on a smith best ever...I do 2 plates a side for 15's usually
I have free weight seated front press 275 for 8-10 also
not yet best i can do is rep 165 x 8
Do you guys go all the way to your chest when doing these?
