Who has it? What's your opinion of the phone after use?

I'm really thinking about getting it.. but I want to really do some research into it before spending $600 bones.

how much did you get it for and did you run into too many problems? Also what's the build quality? I did some research but still would like to know more first hand experiences.

    I got it from expansys.com.

Build quality is good. Menus are snappy. If you're in the US, I'd wait until you can get a US model with 850 MHz band included. Mine only has one US compatible band (1900 MHz).

    It's a nice phone altogether.

FWIW, I've also had an SE T68i, a Nokia 3650 and an SE T616.

This one is definitely my favorite. Second favorite is the 3650, but it's too big to carry in my front pocket comfortably.

T68i sucked (painfully slow menus). T616 was OK, but no speakerphone and limited memory for camera.

    Anything else?

    I'm a sucker for gadgets.

If my 6230 was a Series 60 phone, It'd be the perfect phone. In fact, Series 60 is the only thing it doesn't have that I wish it did have. I like the 3650, but it's just too honking huge, plus the 6230 has some features not offered by the 3650, namely EDGE data speeds (I use an iPaq connected via bluetooth to my phone to watch stocks when I go out to lunch, so fast data speed is very important).

I also like being able to use MP3's as ring tones and alarms.

Freaky. My ring tone on my 6230 is Hold It Now, Hit It - Beastie Boys and my alarm tone is Time To Get Ill - Beastie Boys.

    :)

BTW, on the 6230, there's no conversion necessary. plays MP3's out of the box.

Also has a loudspeaker/speakerphone and an AM/FM radio (though it requires that a headset be connected for use as the antenna).
