I saw them at a store today for $79.. Not bad.

I was wondering how they worked. I saw that comparo site about it the AR and AK.

But honestly what should I expect if I blow $80 on it? ANything that good or that bad?
also the long version is $100. Is that worth it ?

I just picked up an M44 for $80. I hear they kick like a mule and if you leave the steel buttplate on it and shoot more than a few rounds you can expect to have a pretty bad bruise in the morning.

This M44 is probably the last rifle I buy without a C&R. I'm glad I went ahead with it, though, because it's fucking beautiful.

I've got 2 Mosins one was a $50 rifle beat to shit but barrel was still looking decent, best $50 I ever spent, its a great shooter, IMO well worth the money, I liked it so much I bought another that was unissued for $150, as far as worth they range by condition, also some various ones that are more rare(produced by certain arsenals no differences just markings making them more rare) $50-80 usually look pretty beat but as long as the barrel looks good no worries, nice and unissued condition usually go for $100-150

    Thanks!

I looked at a M44 today and the thing that made me reluctant.. besides the backround check process with interpol, we the wood was beaten up by the bayonette. I guess Im looking for an M38..

It wont bruise me,I hope :)
May have to buy one... Thanks gents

I have an M44 and the bayonet hasn't marked up the wood at all. There was probably something wrong with the joint or mount on that M44 you looked at causing the bayonet to destroy the wood.

I think the kick on it is worse than my 870 loaded with 12ga bird shot.

I've got an m44 I picked up for like $70 at big five. One of my favorite guns. Thing makes such a rediculus amount of noise and shoots a 2 foot flame out the barrel with wolf ammo. Got it in like new condition and is just tons of fun to shoot, I would highly recomend it.
