I have a set of earplugs that I keep in my bag just in case. Very useful when going to concerts and other events where a large crowd is present, especially if you're walking around and getting close to speakers and such.

If you are working in an environment with loud noises, keep ear plugs for your use. Accumulated damage takes its toll when you get older.

I do, since at a lot of concerts I find myself shooting right in front of the amps. After a 2-hour + opener show, I'm glad I have them.

do you guys get ridicule for the ear protection? i used to hear the random "why are you wearing ear plugs, do you hate the music?"

after being born with bad eyes, i value the senses that are still good.

I wear low-profile surefire Ep3s. People hardly notice.

earplugs are useful. "Enjoy the music"...meh...overrated.

Getting called to shoot, is getting called to shoot. They don't check with you to see if you like the music beforehand.

Hard to enjoy any music when the levels are so high that its distorted.

Werd. I keep a pack of those in my range bag. I wear them under the muffs for the indoor range.

(and I was just busting balls about ear protection, definitely wear some.)

Especially when the wannabe badasses bring their 44 mag dirty harry to the indoor range and proceed to miss the entire target half the time :ugh2:

That shockwave rattles your bones in an enclosed space.

most recent :ugh: was 4 asians. 2 guys 2 girls. they had 4 rented guns in the lane. 1 asian guy picks up a glock 9mm (19 i think) and proceeds to fire it as fast as he can at the target, which is 20ft away. i never heard 15-16 rounds fired so fast out of a semi. i step back to look at his target. looked like this

I try to get there when the doors open, that usually gives me a solid half hour before the morons roll out of bed.
