Throw out who you think it is. IMO I think it is Bas Rutten if he isnt then he is at least at the very top of the list. When he started off he was mainly kick boxing but his grappeling eventually got to the same level as his striking and he became one of the most well rounded fighters out there.

Thats just my opinion though what do you guys think

Tim Sylvia, his game is pure mma perfection, as are his sideburns.

joke response - Gabe Reudiger, he showed his passion for the sport on The Ultimate Fighter, and that's what really counts.

real response - i would say Randy Couture, 1) he's older than most of the guys by around ten to fifteen years 2) he can still kick ass at 44 3) standup and ground, both are strong areas for him 3) he keeps himself clean and in a respectable manner. so yeah, i'd say he's who i would claim is the best MMA Fighter of all time (as of 10/10/2007)

Depends what you mean by greatest. Sounds like you are saying most well rounded, in terms of skill set. Given that assumption I would have to say BJ Penn, Fedor, and maybe GSP.

Okay are we talking greatest fighter so far, or the most well-rounded/talented? Very different things.

  16. "greatest" would have to be between Couture and Wanderlei, for me.

I go with Bas Rutten as well. Not only could he kick the crap out of most MMAers today if he didn't have his injuries, he has also done tons of other stuff MMA related and his books and DVDs are gospel for many up and coming fighters.
