    BJ Penn
-If he moves up to fight GSP at welterweight, he's going to lose this fight because he still doesn't have the same strength and conditioning that GSP has. GSP has also been improving rapidly in skill. The only way that Penn takes this is if he gets to ref his own fight like he did with Sherk. :hsugh:
-If he stays at LW I think eventually a fighter like Florian or Tyson Griffin will just outwork him for 5 rounds. I also think that he beats most if not all the LWs for the most part, but from the Sherdog radio interview and other interviews it sounds like he is already making excuses for being lazy if he has to stay at LW.

    GSP
-At this rate, I don't think we are going to see a welterweight that can compete with him in terms of skill and athleticism for awhile. That being said, I can see him get TKO'd again in the future by chance. Fitch could do it, Alves might although I doubt it, I think Koscheck stands the best chance.
-If he moves up to MW to fight Silva, I think that fight is 50/50 for both of them. Anderson definitely has better striking, but GSP's wrestling is what closes the gap.

    Anderson Silva
-Short term, I think maybe Yushin Okami could beat him or maybe Nate Marquardt but it would be a bit of a long shot
-Long term, one of the BJJ wizards at MW is eventually going to work his way to a title shot and probably beat Silva. Guys like Ricardo Almeida, Demian Miai, and Palhares all stand a good shot against Silva.

i think fitch has a better chance than kos.. if for no reason other than that gsp has already beat kos.. easily..

i think jake shields would be a fun match up.. dont think he's beatin gsp tho

Kos did better than Hughes did in their last two fights, also better than Serra

He almost won the first round :o

I also think he has a more explosive style than Fitch, which is what could present problems

What does Tyson provide that BJ hasn't been faced with before?

tyson griffin has the size to outmuscle bj, the striking to not get sherk'd, and the cardio to outlast him.

I didn't say he would destroy him, I just think he is a complete package that can give BJ a true run for his money.

I'm not some main forum jerkoff.

Do me the honor :hsugh: of at least attempting to explain to my ignorant and unknowing self why I'm so wrong?

BJ Penn has fought 2 former UFC LW #1 Belt holders, 3 former UFC WW #1 Belt holders, fought against a 205 fighter who is a contender for the LHW belt, and has fought countless elite strikers and elite grapplers. He always came in underweight when he fought above his normal weight class and that still did not give his opponents an huge advantage.

Again, Tyson Griffin provides nothing new to BJ Penn in terms of weight, or striking, or wrestling/BJJ that BJ Penn hasn't seen or fought against before. Tyson Griffin is not some schmoe joe either, its justs that BJ Penn has more experience and fought the best in each weight class, not #4 or #8 guy.

I don't think anyone can beat BJ at LW or Silva at MW. GSP's got plenty of good competition at WW. Mike Swick, Drew Mcfedries...Marcus Davis is on an 11 win streak, Martin Kampmann's won 8 straight, and Jon Fitch hasn't lost since forever.
