Which would you get??

    Considering this laptop or this iMac. Which is the better deal? Asking because I know knowing about Mac's. This would be my first Mac. Want it to be a good experience. Dont want to have to worry about upgrading any time soon. I can get both of these for $600

    It has 4gb ram "upgraded from 2gb", 250 gb hard drive, 2.16 intel core 2 duo processor " two dual core processors ", dual layer dvd/rw, eyesite webcam, + a like new battery and charger. This also has two operating systems both Leopard 10.5.7 and XP Professional along with office 2008 and adobe cs3 indesign Premium

    I just sent him an offer for 600 and he accepted for the last one. I may go grab it tonight.

    its weird you're asking us to choose a laptop or desktop for you...that should be something you should decide.

    Mac laptops are great machines, but do get hot. I'm a little weary about getting something that has all sorts of applications on it because my first instinct is to do a complete Erase and Install with the installation disc.

    I would suggest this if I were you and if he/she still wants to throw in the extra programs, do it after you've set it up for yourself.

    I am asking for advice because I am clueless with Mac's and dont want to get screwed buying junk.

    I meant more about the laptop vs. desktop...which one do YOU want? As with all machines, there may be problems but as far as models are concerned, all Macs are great machines (sans the Mac Cube several years ago).

    But no matter what, do a thorough test run of any machine you consider and make sure it runs like it should. The guy should be able to show you this stuff.
