    I came across a 12" powerbook g4 1.5ghz, 80gb hd, 512mb ram, superdrive
    for $899 new in box.

I was browsing apple.com and can get the lowend macbook (white) for $949.

I am looking for something small and portable to carry all the time, I have a g5 tower at home for anything that requires more processing power.

Which machine would be faster? the 1.83ghz intel core duo or the 1.5ghz macbook?

also, will the macbook run bootcamp/xp fairly well? I need access to a windows machine for some websites for work.

    any input?

I don't know whether to laugh or cry that the "new" macbooks are already being refurbed.

It's not like Apple are an exception to the norm.
