Just got off the phone with my local camera guy...

he has the Tamron 90mm 2.8 in stock, as well as a used Nikon 105mm 2.8...

    Both for ~450

    Which one should I get!?!?!?!

Assuming the 105 is the AF-D? I'd go with the Nikon.

Personally I'd go w/ neither. The #1 reason i would buy a fixed lens is because it's faster (wider aperture) than a zoom. So no 1.8 no care.

    but you left already! :o

    Thanks for the replies fellas!

I got the Tamron for $450 + the $90 rebate.

The Nikon looked.... used. So I passed on it. All of the research I did put these two neck and neck for sharpness and bokeh, so I figured I'd stick with the one that was new, cheaper, and had a warranty...

Sample pics later, I haven't even had time to take it out of the box...

    Oh, and I got a 2nd sb-600 too!

    First pics...

First time I've gotten to sit down since I bought it. I know subject sucks, but whatever.

First shot is complete full frame, just resized.

    Second shot is 100% crop.

Shot RAW, only adjustment was WB and resize.

Minimum focus distance is like a foot... from the sensor...
