I need new tires and am down to choosing between the Kumho AST's or the Sumitomo HTR-200's.

Anyone think one's better than the other? Why?

Out of those two, def. the sumitumo's....but look into some dunlop direzza dz101's....performance along the lines of Yokohama AVS ES100 (perhaps even better) and cheap.

what size? cause if you are looking for summer tires....i'd say go with the Kumho MX on Tirerack.com....around 100 bux for a 17" tire size.

If you're going with all season, i've had good results with Coninental ContiSportExtreme...but they are a little pricey.

What size wheels are you running? I find it funny that people are recommending tires when they don't even know what size you need.

Kumho MXs are just about as good as it gets for a pretty ridiculous price. I recently got a set for my M3.

    225/50-15 and 205/50-15.

I already bought a set of Sumitomo's and have put about 3-4k on them so far. I DEFINITELY would recommend these over the shitty 711's I had on before.
