    I voted for the garand, but it depends on what you already have.

    btw- i was kinda leaning towards the Garand anyway. been wanting one for a while.

    It's a cool gun to have, but I mainly see it as a conversation piece. It costs so much to shoot, and has no real practical application, unless you live somwhere with no neighbors, then I guess you could use it as a home defense gun, but you couldn't carry it concealed, unless it was under a bit trench coat in the winter. I'm not knocking it, but I hate when people call them deagles.

    i'd get the garand, because it's cooler, more practical, and if you're in the CMP, cheaper. though, surplus .30-06 is drying up.

    edit-but that quote is where i learned the term "Deagle"

    It is a term used by people who play video games, and know nothing about real life guns.

    i said 1911, but i'm a pistol man myself, thow, the garand is nice to

    interresting side note : John Garand (the guy that designed the garand) had a ice skating rink in his living room
