    it appears they might be the same panel, just with different bells and whistles (actually i think the 42PH9UK is the commercial model)

    the first comes with a stand, the second doesn't

    also, the second requires HDMI inputs if you want them. supposedly much more "customizable" for AV heads

    16:9 Widescreen Aspect Ratio (1,024 x 768 Pixels)
    :ugh::ugh::ugh::ugh::ugh::ugh:

    Firstly thats not even widescreen, secondly 42" @ 1024 * 768 is definitely a TV not a monitor.

    Both have their goods and bads, depends on what you have and what you need. Maybe try looking at something else.

    well i actually knew that the circuit city one had a stand (and incidentally is gray :mamoru: ) and had a tuner and built in speakers. The second one can be bundled with a tilt wall mount for only $50 more though, so that's not a big deal. I realized that they had different features (like a 4 year difference in warranty for example) but i guess i was trying to figure out if they were actually the same panel or if one might be a newer generation than the other one (specifically if the commercial one was a higher quality panel).

    does that mean the commercial one is either the next-gen panel or is going to be?

    42PX75U is the new model...very little differences. Contrast ratio is the same, same # HDMIs, etc. I'd have to see the screen to be sure, but I'd prolly stick with the 60U. Though the new one is allegedly black (haven't seen it yet.)

    That commercial one has specs that won't see retail...namely the lack of NTSC/ATSC tuners. Only the low end losers will sell monitors at this point.
