    hannah
    http://www.blusites.com/hannah/index2.php
    # splash page
    # home page slideshow
    # 5 galleries
    # subdivide-able text sections

    james
    http://www.blusites.com/james/index2.php
    # splash page

and thanks for Jcolman for recommending the site.... :bigthumb:

www.bludomain.com is the site, and if there's anything else that OT likes, post it. I want the page to open in the same window. Some have a 'full screen' option only, which is what I *don't* want.

The music doesn't have to play. I don't have music on my site even though it supports it.

I'm gonna vote for Hannah, but only because I dated a Swedish nanny named Hannah while I lived in Dublin.

    My god, was she fun.

Those sites always have about a 50/50 shot of going into a never ending load loop for me, and even when they do load I'm greeted with a generic, boring flash template that looks like every other photogs website ever. Music is weak, but if your clients are brain-dead soon to be wed idiots, you might need to have it anyway.

This business is all about making a unique and memorable impression however people first come in contact with you, and a generic flash template is pretty far from unique. Everything about you, your business cards, your portfolio, your manner on-site, the way you keep your gear, the way you talk on the phone (NEVER saying the phrase "Well what are you looking for?"), and especially your website needs to be memorable in it's consummate professionalism. You need to be immaculate in your precision when creating your image and your brand.

If you're serious about making photography a real source in income for yourself, I would suggest you make the investment in having a qualified branding designer make you something memorable and unique and then have a web designer take that and make you a website to match, a website that you don't need to squeeze your photography into because of arbitrary specs. Spend the money because it's worth it and because they'll remember you over the guy with the template website and the office depot $1.99 business cards.

Not every photographer is going to go full tilt into the business. Some of us want a web presence without breaking the bank. I've had a lot of positive feedback on my site and it's starting to bring me business. I had my business cards designed to reflect my web logo as well so I'm keeping my "branding" clean, consistent and simple. :bigthumb: to mtkversion for that!

I like james, EXCEPT for the portfolio photo selector...all the pictures look the same in the strip. Betty/Louise is worlds better in that respect.

so every template comes with that backend control panel no matter where you host and it edits the template on teh fly?

    James and only james.

    because this is ghey
wtf?? If you choose to not pay the 100 bucks for the 1 year of hosting with them for those other 3 templates, you still have to pay an extra 100 bucks to host elsewhere??

    fuck that
