OCZ is good, so it's tempting based on price. However, I have has such a wonderfully amazing experience with all corsair memory that I think I'd end up with Corsair. It's hassle free, fast, and the most compatible stuff ever.

They will both be good. And customer service is top notch from both companies. But since the OCZ is cheaper, I likey go with that.

I was about to buy some ram on ebay used. Since the memory has a lifetime warranty, it shouldn't matter, correct?

I would never buy memory from ebay. If it's physically damaged, they won't warranty it. Bottom line, there's little/no reason to sell memory on ebay. Spend the $5 more and buy it new from a reputable source.

I tend to agree, I just wonder whether it's really worth $50 more. (I could say $10 more, but mail-in-rebates are pretty sketchy about when/if they ever mail the check.)

I don't believe the warranty conveys from the original owner to future owners.

    I just read OCZ's warranty statement. http://www.ocztechnology.com/support/warranty/
Doesn't say a need for a receipt and transfer of ownership. Also, I wouldn't think you would need a damn receipt if you have a lifetime warranty. For example, craftsman tools, just bring it in and they will swap if it's broken.

On a side note, this thread made me thinkg about something- you really do apply economics to your puchasing decisions....but yet, you would purchase AMD, even though the cost/benefits are inferior.

Okay okay, calm down. How much money are you going to save by buying the RAM on eBay? Does that price include shipping? (eBayers love to stick it to people by jacking up the shipping charges.) $20, give or take? Does $20 really make any difference over the life of your computer, compared to the cost of the whole machine? It's not worth the money you save if it arrives damaged and the seller has a take-your-DOA-and-shove-it policy and the manufacturer won't take it back. Pay a few bucks more and make sure there's no doubt about who has to pay for replacements if they burn out.

There's no accounting for taste. And benchmarks are not accurate indicators of real-world performance. I own an Archos mp3 player instead of an iPod, too. Why? No DRM of any sort, and I can replace the battery myself. Those are more important to me than touch-sensitive buttons and native iTunes compatibility.
