Halo, Unreal tournament 2004 or Doom III?

I'm looking for a game to play, I love multiplayer FPS's...it'll be running on a 1.67ghz powerbook G4 high-res with 1.5 gig of memory and 128mb video gfx.

    Thoughts?

Which of these games is the most popular with the online scene? My two favourite games are "Half-Life" and "Star Trek: Elite force" neither of which are made for Mac.

So..any help would be appreciated :)

I'm having a hard time getting that to work. It always times out when trying to connect, but it tries to connect for 2 seconds. :dunno:

    Call of Duty

I think I may go with UT2k4 because it has a big following and is always used in benchmark tests.

I'm the kind of guy who likes a million choices for multiplayer servers and can join in anytime at any server and just shoot up a bunch of people.

    Sooo...Either Doom 3 or UT2k4

    :hs:

Halo looks tempting though :o I played it in the mac store...people were waiting to check their email :o

I haven't played UT2k4 on the Mac yet, but I've played CoD and it's a lot of fun. DoomIII is meh.

America's Army sucked. They're so far behind on the patches for the Mac that you can barely find a good server to play on.

Anything like that for Call of Duty? The one game I played religously on PC was Counterstrike.

:dunno: never played CoD -- with respect to UrT, I just love the gameplay. It's faster-paced than CS in some respects, but slightly more realistic in others.. for example you must bandage wounds so you don't bleed out. During the time you're unbandaged you take movement / stamina penalties too. However, the game does allow *some* bunny hopping -- there's a stamina meter but it lets you jump around enough to get into some interesting places :coold:

    highly recommended :bigthumb:

also you should be able to pick up Q3 for like $10 these days so no reason not to get into it :big grin:

Yeah UT2k4 was your best choice. Doom3 just sucks for multiplayer and would run horrible. Halo is just meh. UT runs great and its made for online play. I wish I had a copy for my Mac though :/
