Was it a 629?
I think it was model 29
Probably a stupid question, but is the 29 and 629 the same thing? When someone says a model 29 is that just a shortened way of saying 629?
I'd imagine the 629 is an updated version of the 29 but I really cant say.
There is a 629 and a 629 Classic, so I imagine the Classic version is similar to the one used in Dirty Harry
you guys are all wrong- although Harry was supposed to use a S&W Model 29 .44 Mag, the actual gun used was the Model 25 in .45 Long Colt due to the availability of .45 blanks at the studio.
holy 993 ownage
this is a first
A police department in the Philippines ordered a print of the movie for use as a training film.
everyone always asks if my s&w 500 (circa 2001+) is the one in the "dirty harry" movie
i have to explain the answer to them, and that dirty harry was was circa 1971
Have they ever even seen the movie?
Thanks to the Dirty Harry character the model 29's price went from like 200 bucks to over 800. Everyone was buying the 29's up left and right.
Then they shot them twice, put them back in the box, and now they're behind the photo albums and board games in the upstairs closet.
bingo. There are alot of very pristine 29's sitting in closets just begging to be bought.
I always thought the 29 was the blued version.
The 629 was the stainless steel version.
I have a 629 and it is Stainless Steel model.
I have no clue and probably shouldnt have said anything
