    14in Sony Vaio
    Core i5 520m 2.4ghz
    4gb Ram
    500gb HD
    Blu Ray
    512mb GT330 Video card

    979.99

    The New Macbook Pro 13in
    Core 2 Duo 2.66
    250gb HD
    4gb Ram
    Integrated Geforce 320m Graphics

    1099.99 after my student discount.

Mostly going to be for school, web and general computing for the next few years. Some light gaming... Diablo 3, but nothing crazy.

The hardware of the sony is better, much better, and I like Windows 7 from my limited use with it. I've always been a PC guy, but now that Im shopping for a laptop, its a much harder decision.

    What say you?

I misquoted the new MBP at 1099.99 for the 2.66ghz. that would be 1399.99. For 1099.99 you get 2.4ghz.

I actually just bought that Sony VAIO laptop about a month ago.

Everything is smooth, it's great. Only gripe i have with the computer is that the case shows fingerprints like a mother fucker. I have a microfiber cloth next to it to wipe off all the fingerprints. If that doesn't bother you, the computer just looks, runs, and plays amazing.

And the graphics card is quite nice :) Been playing some CS:S and HoN with it and not a single problem with it. I have noticed a little bit of a slow startup time, due to some of the bloatware from Sony though. Spend the 2 hours removing all that you can when you first get it if you want it to run well for a while.

Having never owned a Mac, I cannot compare it to the macbook.
