Which is better, pushups or dumbbells?

    or home, is it better to do 3 sets of dumbbell exercises for different muscle groups, or do 3 sets of different pushups? or 2 sets of each? or 1 set of push ups 3 sets of dumbbells?

    If you are exercising at home - why not do all?

    At home, everyday, even though I don't seriously tire my muscles I do the following before my night shower (on on days as well):


    3x10 Incline (around 1.5 feet) wide grip pushups (wide grip simply because i don't know correct terminology - I know i don't grip anything)
    2x10 incline close grip pushups (to target tri's / front delts more)
    2x10 flat wide grip pushups
    2x10 decline (around 1.5 feet) wide grib pushups
    2x10 flat, wide grip, holding dumbells against the floor pushups
    2x10 12.5lb DB flies (on floor, so ROM is limited)
    5x10 12.5lb SLDL's (does nothing but work up a sweat if you do it quick enough)
    3x12 12.5lb curls
    3x12 12.5lb arnold press
    3x12 12.5lb db front raise
    3x12 12.5lb db lateral raise
    3x12 12.5lb bent over row
    3x12 12.5lb standing rear delt row (dunno proper name)
    2x15 crunches
    2x15 (dunno the name, but i hold my legs up and touch my toes - ab work)

    ^ this sort of thing doesn't really build muscle if you can do it all, but I find it gives me a good feeling and helps me relax before bed. Only takes between 30min-60min depending on my intensity as well. I'd probably consider this sort of thing more cardio work than anything. I get pretty hot and sweaty doing it and my heart rate does climb noticeably.
