    the way i saw it is that a chin-up is having your arms at a wide stance while pull-ups are a little closer (preferably shoulder width) and just being able to pull yourself up toward the bar. unlike chin-ups where you have your chin above the bar to count each rep.

    ive always viewed pullups as palms facing away, arms out wide and chinups as palms facing you with a close grip :dunno:
