Thinking of turning in my Vickers Padded sling and getting a Magpul MS2. Is the MS2 that much better than what Im currently rolling? Any complaints about the MS2? Thanks

  2. I had an MS2, and sold it. The webbing is too narrow, and too soft. It's not really comfortable to carry for an extended period of time. I haven't used the padded Vickers sling, but I'd give one a try before buying another MS2.

Have a Vickers non padded and a VTAC sling.

I prefer the VTAC, but the Vickers is pretty good as well. Some prefer the Vickers because it is theoretically more durable and simpler.

I use the vtac sling, I like it. To be honest any quick adjust 2 point sling would suit my needs. I would not run a single point slings because if you dropped a rifle and let it hang after getting the barrel hot you can burn the shit out of yourself.

Are the Vickers padded and non padded the same length?

I believe the padded is longer.

Mine is the padded version and is adjusted as small as it goes.

Is it still too long? What's your height?

I'm 5'11" with a short torso. I wouldn't mind being able to shorten it up another inch but don't really feel like its too long per se. I only have it totally choked up when I'm walking around with it slung. With it as tight as it will go it still gives room to shoulder the rifle, but doesn't leave enough slack to tuck the stock into the crook of the elbow for malfunction clearnace so I slacken it with the slider before shooting.
