I want to get a external HDD and have come to these 2 ..

both are 500gb with firewire 800..

LaCie d2 Hard Drive Extreme with Triple Interface
    FireWire 800, FireWire 400, Hi-Speed USB 2.0
50% faster than 1st generation FireWire 800 drives**
    Ultra-quiet, heat dissipating design
    Stack, rack-mount or stand upright

    190 + 22 shipping = $212

shipping is expensive because im in hawaii. Thing is this price is the refurb one, and im not sure if its a good idea to get a refurb HDD

    OR

Intelligent drive management — SmartPower™ automatic power on/off, Safe Shutdown™
Capacity gauge — See at a glance how much space is available on your drive

    189 + 16 = 205
