    I bought 2 different drives and need to return one. Actually, I bought the Seagate and then found a great deal on the Maxtor after the Seagate was being shipped.

    Seagate - I bought for $170 hand have a $70 mail in rebate:
    Barracuda 7200.7 Plus

    Model Number:ST3200822A
    Capacity:200 GB
    Speed:7200 rpm
    Seek time:8.5 ms avg
    Interface:Ultra ATA/100



    Maxtor - I bought for $65 on that Staples deal on Saturday:
    Capacity 160 GB
    Interface EIDE/ATA
    Average Seek Time ≤ 9 ms
    Spin Speed - RPM 7200 RPM
    Data Transfer Rate up to 133 MB/sec
    Cache Buffer 8 MB

    ha for as cheap as you got the maxtor I would keep them both. Segates seem to have better build quality though.

    I would keep both, however ...

    If I HAD to choose one, I'd go with the Maxtor (being a 133)

    Since I already have a Western Digital 100giger in my PC, I don't plan on buying both.
