i have this weird dilemma, i focus with my left eye, but im right handed, so its tough trying to look through the scope with your left eye while having the rifle on the right side

tried using my right eye but i just cant focus well, i can barely keep my right eye open when closing the left one, but my left eye can be wide open and in focus when the right one is closed.....wtf is wrong with me

I'm right-handed, left-eye dominant, but have no trouble shooting right-handed.

Otherwise ... brass deflectors are good enough on the average AR to shoot left-handed without trouble and ambidextrous controls aren't hard to find.

I'm right handed/right eyed, but I have shot pretty well left/left a few times for the hell of it with both shotguns and rifles.

Just practice. Unless you have some actualy physical abnormality in your right eye, it will eventually learn to adjust.

left eye, right handed (only because that is how I was raised) have no problem focusing with my right eye. Though handguns I actually feel more conformable with my weak hand for one handed shooting. I tried shooting lefty with a rifle once with a 30-30, in HS football I dislocated my left shoulder tore 3 ligaments and took a chip out of the head of the arm bone, needless to say as soon as I pulled to trigger I was instantly reminded of the fact that my two shoulders are now built differently.

Get an eye patch for your left eye. Then you can keep both eyes open but can look through the scope with only the right eye.

After you do this for awhile, the right eye will become strong enough that you can do it without the patch. So use the patch for practice for some time when at the range and you'll train your right eye to work for you.

Didn't they have a solution to this in "Fire Birds"? Actually, my oldest daughter has the same problem. We're working on teaching her to focus with the right eye. If that doesn't work, we'll have to explore other options.
