eh, untill I see Mat Mladin rolling with a pipe that looks anything like the stock pipe, Im doubting the stock will have any advantages over a nice RS3 yosh pipe.

Exactly, stock pipes are always comprimises, and designed for sound and emissions levels.

If they make it an octagon and claim it increases your turn in ability that's fine for selling bikes, but I have yet to see anyone scrape their stock can because of their lean angle on the street.

I like the stock pipe. The way it sounds around 4-5000 rpm, almost like an exotic sports car. Very unconventional and very cool. I can't see my self getting rid of it for a WHILE.

I agree with ya, but maybe the quality of the sound on camera changed.

:nono: Same camera, same encoding in both clips (assuming you're talking about my video)...

The stock sounds okay... but when you're around other bikes that don't have stock pipes (and 90% of 'em don't) your bike sounds like nothing. Literally.

Actually thats the popular choice. Basicly they are all pretty much the same power wise, its mostly for looks. Anything is better then stock. I have a stock one still on my GSXR 1000 but drilled out the stock can, with no map I still put down 155.5rwhp. :bigthumb:

I was at the Suzuki dealer admiring the 1000 on Monday. I was asking how the new muffler worked and why it is shaped the way it is. Through the conversation he said that one guy who recently bought it put on an aftermarket exhuast, Micron I believe, but don't quote me, and he said the guy actually had a power LOSS! Maybe Suzuki did it right the first time. It looks shitty, but maybe it actually performs.

    :dunno:

looks are subjective. I like the stock pipe for it's looks, but much MUCH more for it's power/sound. I too have heard the stock pipe and I would have killed to have that sound on my 954RR.

Yes, you remember correctly, it was a Micron slip-on that caused a power loss.

I am in the exact same boat as you. I really hated the pipe in pics when they first started floating around the net. But after seeing it in person I dont think I will change mine for along ass time.

When/If I change pipes it will be a CF short yoshi can. I had a Yoshi on my 01 R1 and I love the sound of Yosh pipes.
