looking at getting a new digital camera after my sony died on me. I've singled it down to 2 canon models.

    Canon PowerShot SD630 $350

    and

    Canon PowerShot S3 IS $400

the price difference is nothing to me really. I like the small form factor of the SD630. But I'm thinking the S3 will take better pictures with more room to fine tune my shots. Correct me if I'm wrong.

sorry for the double post in OT

that's about $50 too much for an SD630. The price has gone down recently, Canon introduced the SD800IS at $399 (7.1MP)

circuit city online lists it for under $300 now, so does dell and buydig.

SD800IS >>>>> SD630 though. New DiG!C III processor, ISO 1600, face detection, 7.1MP. image stabilization, 28-105mm lens, etc. and it's still in your price range.

thanks for the info. do you think the IS S3 is the best choice for good pictures. I'm sure the Image Stabilization is nice. But from what i've researched all the other stats on the two are the same :dunno:
