in the market for a semi-auto shotgun for trap, skeet and sporting clays. possibly some dove huntin' as well. looking to spend anywhere up to $1500 or so. buy once, cry once, as the resident badass here would say.

I suppose the M2 field would be a pretty obvious choice. I'm sure there are others.

and where is the best place to get these (online I assume)

and if you think I can get a better sort of high-end semi-auto than a benelli (beretta, browning etc) for my price range let me know.

I have a Montefeltro that I really like. I cant really compare it to others as I dont do a lot of shotgunning, but it handles great and balances wonderfully for me.

For what you want, it is the perfect gun.

Although you may want to look into an Over/Under.

indeed. impact guns says they are out of stock of the supersport. probably won't buy this for another month or so though. who else sells benelli's online?

I assume the 28" barrel is pretty standard. definitely not at a level where I'd see a benefit from 2 extra inches of the 30". and its $100 more :ugh:

I simply do not understand how one can spend $2500 on real nice beretta or browning O/U.

they are gorgeous, but fuck...they are like the most simple machines ever. I guess you're paying for the art.

not into that at my young age of 25.

+1 On the Benelli Supersport. The Beretta 391 is also another good choice.

Call Whittaker's outside of Owensboro, Ky.
    http://www.whittakerguns.com/

He deals heavily in the italian guns, and I know he's been in trouble with Beretta (who owns Benelli) for being far cheaper than MAP. I remember when I was working in a gunstore, no one else could/would touch his prices. Supposedly he was one of the largest Beretta family shotgun dealers in the US, and I heard his stock was insane.

Worth a call anyways. Oh, and remember to take it to someone who knows shotguns and have them fit the gun to you. That will make a tremendous difference in performance.

Great weight for the swing and follow through. Also the brownings sight up beautifully and fit very tight.

I bought my Berretta Silver Pigeon two years ago was 26. What does age have to do with buying bad ass guns? :dunno:

Personally I don't like bending over picking up 25 hulls every round. Shell catchers for semi auto shotguns suck. O/U FTW.

I was a competition sporting clays shooter until the age of 21 and the first semi auto shotgun I bought was a 18.5" mossberg for 3 gun about a month ago

I think I am going to go with the sport II. its like $250-300 less, but really just like the supersport...still has a padded stock although not the "comforttech" bullshit, has ported barrel, extended chokes. and I've come to my senses and realized the wood is dead sexay
