Which alcohol is less bad for you lifting wise?

  1. Lifting wise = hangover, weakness, makes u fat, etc.

    Hard A I would assume for the less fat...but what kind? Light...dark? Vodka? Rum? I drink few nights a week and dont really see myself stopping too much so I'd rather be less detrimental to my lifts.

    dude, if you're drinking then stop worrying about it. if you're that serious about your lifting then stop drinking. most people on here drink 1-2 times a week and look pretty good. it's not going to have a huge impact on you

    i drink two nights a week. fri. and sat. sometimes randomly during the week but i don't get shitfaced, just several drinks.

    fri. and sat i get shitfaced. doesn't seem to make a difference during the week.
     
  4. during school year it is just friday saturday. right now its a little more but not too bad. mainly i was just wondering what i should be drinking so it sucks less.

  6. fuck weed. i quit that shit thank god. slowed it down...a lot and pretty much never smoke now. shits not even fun just makes u a lazy couch boy.

    not at all i smoke every night and stay active 7 days a week (5x lift, 2x cardio, basketball, football)

    also i follow a strict ass diet

    Just don't go crazy and you'll be fine. I go out a couple times a week and have 3-4 beers. It's not too bad for you unless you're cutting. Even then you can just accommodate for it earlier in the day and/or work out extra hard the next day to burn off some of those carbs.

    Stick to hard liquors, such as Vodka. Beer has way more calories per alcohol %.

    the lighter the alcohol, the less bad it is for you. ex - vodka>whiskey

    everclear or vodka + diet soda or some cal free mixer is your best bet

    Beer has more calories as a percentage of alcohol volume than most hard alcohol. Therefore, try to stick to the hard stuff if you're going to drink.
    Also, if you're going to drink, i've heard it's better to stick with the clear stuff over the darker stuff.
    Therefore vodka or rum would be a good choice... either on the rocks or mixed with a low sugar type of juice or beverage.

    I can't say much though because I mostly drink non-light beers (sam adams) and whiskey; two fairly calorie dense alcohols. But I absolutely will not drink on a workout day or the day after a workout if my muscles are still pretty sore. And I won't drink unless my calories for that day are pretty strict.

    So jack is bad or good in relation to other alcohols?

    Most of my hard-alcohol drinking comes from jack, makers, and jameson :rofl:

    Whiskey just makes you feel so damn good. I did pick up some vodka and bacardi to mix it up though.
