I dont know anything about them but .44 magnum seems to be the most I would need for 2 and 4 legged threats.

  3. I sure love 10mm, but the .44Mag is more powerful. That being said, get a FiveseveN.

Did some reading and people like

S&W 629 (classic, mountain, and some other variants)
Ruger Blackhawk, Super Blackhawk, Redhawk, Super Redhawk

  5. What size are you looking for? I assume this isn't for CCW around urban areas.

I was trying to beat the 10MM crew in here, I've never even shot 10 mil before.

Not sure on the size. I want one for an end all big bore gun that'll probably be a safe queen.

These will be my handgun calibers.
    .38spl
    9mm
    .45 acp
    .44 mag

I have a Super Blackhawk and it's fun. If you like the old-school Single-Action style revolver then go for that. If you want a heavy-duty double-action revolver to take into the bush with you grab a Super Redhawk. Either one will probably do you fine! :)

  10. I'm not a big revolver person, but I know the 629 and the Ruger Redhawk variants are double action, and the Blackhawks are single action. I'd probably prefer a double action because it gives you more options.

a friend of mine has a ruger black hawk witha 10 inch barrel, the think makes me laugh but it's a good hunting pistol and it still makes a terrific bang.
    How about a 500 s&w magnum http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=s37ZTy4hLUU

Too big. I was at the range last week and a guy was shooting a .460 Rowland and it was shaking my booth which was maybe 30' down. At first I thought he was shooting slugs judging how big the holes were. :eek4:

The reason for .44mag is because I assume it's more popular and I could get ammo anywhere if need be.

Do the 629's come with an internal lock?

AFAIK all the newer S&W's have the internal lock, you would have to look for an older one to get one without.

I'm 10mm that was the spawn of the first of modern terminal ballistics research crew.

And I have no idea on which revolver. S&W is always the safe bet.

Good luck trying to find 10mm at any store.

I'm reading that 5" is a good all around barrel length.

  25. 10mm ammo? Every gun store around me has it, as do most big retailers that sell ammo.
