so I bought some for the first time yesterday. I am trying to lose weight (started at 374...currently down to 295). Guy at work told me not to take it if I'm trying to lose weight, because all those calories store as fat. This guy makes up stories all the time though so I didn't know whether to believe him. I got home and did the research myself and it doesn't say anything like that on the sites I was looking at.

So, whey is good for everyone right? Do you take it daily or just on lifting days? I do a good amount of cardio, should I take it on those days as well?

    that guy is an idiot...

as long as CALORIES OUT > CALORIES IN, you lose weight. whey is wonderful. take it on lift days, take it on recovery days... just take it. youre not trying to build muscle as much as lose weight tho, so maybe 4 scoops a day (2 scoop shakes) would be good.

not that many calories in whey, makes a great snack/supplement imo, sounds like you lost a bunch of weight so far so you probably know more than the guy you work with so fucking ignore the guy and keep going man, 80 pounds or so is a bunch of weight

protein is essential to your health. if you'd rather get your calories through food, then mix the power with less milk, or just use water.

Without protein supplementation, muscle maintainence and growth is going to be near impossible on a calorie deficit.
