Whey Protein causing acne breakouts?

    i somewhat remember hearing this somewhere, that whey protein or other supplements can cause acne breakouts on face or body/

    can anyone confirm/trash this?:wiggle:

    No, just like the 11ty other times this gets asked.

    If you aren't alergic, it doesn't do anything.

    if your taking a testosterone booster than you might get acne... but whey protein is hardly a testosterone booster

    Yeah. Protein causes acne.

    Watch out, if you eat too much, it causes sterilization and herpes too.

    I'd switch to Soy, before you get yourself in trouble.

    If your allergic to it. Try not taking it for a couple weeks without changing anything else, if it goes away solution solved.

    as long as I shower every day I don't break out on my back/face too much (about average amount a 20 year old would)... but I do notice some correlation between the amount of acne i have and the amount of whey i've been consuming for the past few weeks ago... it does seem to increase as my whey intake increases, but it could be coincidental or my mind playing tricks.

    I was having slight breakouts while taking muscle milk and 2% milk. I figured out that I have a slight lactose intolerance and cut alot of the dairy out of my diet. Breakouts are gone.

    I got my blood tested after cyling protien shakes last year and my free test levels were higher than average. I didnt know whey was so anabolic. Might switch back to tofu instead.
