I don't think I'm getting the appropriate amount of protein during my cutting phase. Would whey be a useful supplement to my diet to help with cutting fat while retaining lbm?

You are sub 200lbs right? Your diet must suck total ass if you can't get enough protein. I'll just keep saying it... you don't need supplements, you need to make better food choices.

Register at www.fitday.com and start keeping track of everything you put in your body.

I am below 200 lbs. My diet has been good the past 2 weeks. Today I'll eat

    Breakfast:
    2 hard boiled eggs
    1/2 cup oatmeal
    1 cup skim milk

    apple as snack

    Lunch:
Whole wheat turkey sandwhich w/ lettuce
    2 hard boiled eggs
    Watermelon

    Dinner:
1 normal size piece of lean meat/fish/chicken
    vegetables
    brown rice

I don't think I'm getting the 150g of protein in it?

    Your diet sucks, actually.

Lose the milk, it has no place in your cutting diet.

Lose the bread, it has no place in your cutting diet.

    Eat more.

What you just posted is about 1500 cals, 129g of carbs and 111g of protein + the veggies and watermelon which I didn't log in fitday.

Breakfast have a bunch of egg whites, half a cup of oatmeal, and a scoop of whey

Have a can of tuna or some chicken and a little brown rice mid morning

Have some chicken or fish with veggies for lunch

have some more protein and a little rice mid afternoon

have lean meat and a salad for dinner.

It would be hard to NOT get 200g of protein out of that. Aim for 4-5 small meals a day, it helps speed up your metabolism. Carbs should come from veggies and whole grain sources (rice and oats, not bread). Protein should be lean and make up the majority of your diet. Carbs are not evil, but try to get the majority of them in the morning and immediately post workout.

Thanks for the tip. I did read that it was a myth that 4-5 small meals doesn't actually give metabolic benefits.

You can still lose on 3 meals a day... but you're going to be able to eat the proper amount of food if you are eating smaller meals throughout the day as opposed to 3 meals.

Is there a metabolic difference? Recent studies show yes, and some say no.

who fucking cares what the studies show? Try and see it for yourself. What works for one person might not work for another person.

The basics are the same... eat clean and get lots of protein. Lift weights. Do cardio.

Thanks man. Last question, does that mean what I have been eating will make me not lose weight?

Thanks man. I'll start using Fitday and up the calories. I am dedicating my Senior year of college to going extremely hard at dieting the first 6 months, and then putting muscle on the next 6. Running in the AM everyday, working out in the PM every afternoon. 6 days a week, rotating upper and lower body each day. Should produce great results.

I"ll try to take a picture every two weeks during it.

Wrong. 4 days a week is plenty. More != better. Read Pur's sticky and follow the routine to a T.

This is an awesome diet plan. Follow it, and quit making new threads. If you want to lose weight, as fast as possible, do this, track it, and track your results. you may have to tweak it here or there as time goes by. If you feel like this isn't enough, throw in cardio to your heart's content.

TRACK YOUR SHIT ON FITDAY AND MEASURE/WEIGH EVERYTHING. Even if you're getting the right foods, you truly will have no idea what your intake is unless you measure, record and track it all.
