Big 5 unless you want to get a C&R FFL. Unless you plan on getting a LOT of milsurp weapons just buy at Big 5. The only thing you're gonna save more than $10 or $20 on is an SKS. Too much paperwork and too many hoops to jump through ftl.

yah, I only plan on getting a Mosin, Mauser, and Enfield from them (and if you believe itll end there, I have a bridge to sell you), but since I cant get a C&R yet, its the only way.

I'd rather not have the feds searching my collection. Nor do I buy enough guns to need it.

They are allowed to do an inspection once a year of your c&r log, must contact you for an appointment and it can be done in your home or their office. Personally I would choose their office That said I've never head of it being done. If you get a c&r and don't renew they ask you to mail in your bound book and thats all I've ever heard. Ymmv.

I think he means that he, like myself, would rather avoid giving the government a detailed list of firearms in my possession. It may be nice to have a gun shipped to my front door, but personally, I can drive 7 blocks to big5 and have it in my hands in 5 minutes. :)

Where do you think those 4473's that you fill out at big 5 go along with the information in their bound book? Your dealer is far far far far more likely to get audited than you with a c&r.

4473: "sorry I sold that a while ago"

C&R: "Here is the list of all the guns i have, here they all are"

You may resell a gun that is in your log book. Just because you buy it and log it, doesn't make it yours forever. LOL you guys really don't know what you're talking about when it comes to C&R.

If you think you'll be buying a bunch of mil surp (which you will, it's a disease :) ) then you should seriously look into getting a C&R.
