starting to notice things are coming back. anyone seeing this as well? Thinking of getting a few lowers just to have, as it is my understanding (maybe I am wrong) that if the ban were to go into affect, it's just the lowers that would be unavailable? :dunno:

Well, its possible that they will want you to register with your local law enforcement, so you'd need a completed gun because thats how you'd register it. They can put whatever crazy shit they want in it.

PS: I has two boxes of federal .22 value pack for you so far.

Taking it and showing it to your local LEO would suck. The previous ban was for 'completed rifle' prior to the date, but it was pretty much impossible to prove if the rifle was completed or not if you already had a lower receiver. The burden of proof was on the govt if I recall correctly. They may have learned from their mistake :noes:

As for finding lowers, they are very prevalent at the gun shows... I bought one on Saturday ( http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=4174060 ). They were all over the place for $139 to $159 for RRA, DPMS, Essential, Doublestar, Bushmaster, etc...

Since there's nothing written or proposed yet, nobody really knows what a ban will consist of. It could ban assault weapons outright, force registration, or prohibit you from transferring them to anyone. Right now I wouldn't spend your money on lowers you wont use unless you got money burning holes in your pockets. There are lots of other fun things you can get now instead of boring stripped lowers. Just my opinion though :)

I agree. I didn't buy any more since I'm not looking to resell them and I don't have any need for a bunch more. The one I did buy will be completed by this weekend if everything comes together as planned :x:
