I have two options right now..

    1) my friend who is an amateur at making sub boxes to make one for me

    2) a friend recommended me to a pro car audio place that does custom installs, and i get 50% off labor..

    which would be better?

unless he's an excellent craftsman, making a custom enclosure is going to be very hard to do. my "rack" that I've finally started to 'glass took 5 complete rebuilds before I got something that looked nice and (will) sound good.

I went to the shop, and they gave me an estimate of $300 for the sub box creation, installing, and wiring everything up..

does that sound reasonable for two 15s?

www.woodlawncabinetry.com give Phil a looksee, he will quote you a price, and can include shipping charges as well as carpeting the box too.

sounds reasonable. I was quoted between $500 and $800 for the kind of fiberglass rack/frame I'm building myself (holds 2 12s, 2 amps and a computer)
