where to get a card reader for usb 1.1?

    my computer is in the stoneage and i want to get pics from my camera to my computer. i tried gettin one on ebay and got ripped off.

    2.0 card readers should be backwards compatible with USB 1.1

    tigerdirect still sells old usb1.1 readers. they don't cost much.

    i have a 2.0 reader. it doesnt work. the drive shows up and it reads how much memory is on the card. but no pictures.

    Then its either defective or just badly designed. A lot of stuff out there is really cheap and not well designed. USB2.0 is backwards compatible with USB1.1 if they followed the spec.

    Check for dirty contacts on the card/reader. Those things are pretty cheap, probably best to go pick up a new one.
