I'm looking to get a new tower (currently have a PC running Ubuntu that is about 4 years old).

I've got my powerbook and love that... but it's also about 2.5 years old and I want a desktop replacement. I don't feel like dropping a few grand on a computer.

I was wondering where you think I could find a used Mac Pro (not powerpc) for around the 1k-1.2k mark.

I checked my local craigslist and didn't find any intels. Amazon had a few but they were still at least 2k.

Ebay was just a giant clusterfuck because they bundled it with 3,000 different apps and still want 2000+

I'd keep checking craigslist and ebay, I really don't know of any better sources.

hmm, I guess i'll just keep an eye on craigslist and ebay. I'm not sure if I want to trust a website I don't know anything about. At least with craigslist I can drive to the persons house to see it first :hsd:

Bare in mind most people buy them with the intent for them to last 3+ years so they are going to hold a reasonable price due to low used supply. Check ebay, craigslist, mac forums like macrumors and such often.

I really want the mac pro :hsd:

I had been obsessing with the 24" iMac for a while... but I just don't want to spend that much. I also have two 19" LCD monitors that I can simply plug into the mac pro and use.
