I haven't read the novel, but is this pretty much a kid's movie, or is there something more?

I feel the trailer speaks for itself. To some, it seems like nothing more than a kids movie. I don't have kids. I'm 27. And I plan on going to the theater to see this.

I see... so it's a kid's movie with heart. Gotcha.

Shitty is the last thing it looks. But there'll always be fringe opinions with anything. The majority of people think the trailer looks absolutely amazing.

Im torn. My heart wants to see this due to the love of the children's book. But my head knows that Hollywood finds a way to destroy almost every one of those memories with movies/remakes.

    But I'll probably still go.

This is Spike Jonze. Definitely not typical Hollywood. If these early reviews are any indication, you should have nothing to worry about.

Maurice Sendak said if he could have any director make a "Where The Wild Things Are" movie that he would only trust Spike Jonze to tackle it well. Early reviews already say it's beautifully done and in no way tarnishes the book.

I'm really stuck on the soundtrack right now. I've been listening to it the last few days, over and over.

I love Spike Jonze, and glad that he was involved from the beginning. but "Early Rviews" mean shit. So many that write those reviews are completely out of touch.

Like I said, im sure ill end up seeing it. Im just not going in with any expectation.
