At the minute I'm doing just throwing them onto the end of my workouts to really punish myself.

    Any suggestions would be great.

To make sure this thread gets F&N love:

    - I don't need to work my legs because I play hockey.

    - Why aren't I gaining weight, I eat maybe 1000 cals @ 210lbs...

if you're going to perform the olympic lifts, they should be at the beginning of your workout

seriously, we need more info, ie. your routine, before we can give our opinion what day you should do them

seeing as they are a compound movement, they should go at the beginning of your workout. doing them at the end of your workout isn't the best thing because it takes a lot of muscle control to do properly, and at the end of your workout, your muscles should be dead and harder to control

The only oly lift I was doing was the clean and jerk... It seems great to develope explosiveness and develope my cardio.

Should I use the olympic lifts to replace the squats and deadlifts that I love? The thought of doing c'n'j BEFORE squats and deadlifts makes me feel ill!

    Drewdog:

I do the standard 3 day split:

I don't target arms in general, unless I feel my tri's aren't being hit hard enough. I've never directly worked biceps, I think the arm developes well with all the other lifts.

the last thing you wanna do the clean and jerk for is "cardio". develop explosiveness, sure. and like ceaze said, i woudl not want to do the olympic lifts prefatigued. it's hard enough to get the form right when you are 100% fresh.

I was actually wanting to start doing cleans. I'm on an upper/lower split right now - I would imagine that it would go in on one of the lower days.

Back Squats on Tuesdays, Deadlifts/Front Squatting on Saturdays - I'm pretty sure what I would do is replace one of those lifts, and it seems most rational to me that deadlifts would be what they would replace.

If I am an idiot in this please let me know. If I'm an idiot elsewhere, you can stfu though :)

I would do them either before back squats, or in the place of deadlifts
