My problem is, I know very few gay people.

Like, all of my friends are straight. It's not like I'm closeted or anything (quite on the contrary) but I just have problems meeting other gay men.

    Any advice?

For the record, I'm 19 and a college student.

I don't. I think every queer I know I've met on the internet. College seems like a good place to meet guys. Does your school have a Gay and Lesbian Alliance or something of that sort? That might be a good place to start. I've never been in one of those organizations myself, but it seems logical.

I was out buying food for Ferron and I last night, and this guy in a jeep pulled up to me and started talking to me :dunno:

Him: Why you looking so mean for the holidays?
    Me: <turns around> excuse me?
Him: I asked you, cutie, why you looking so upset?
    Me: uhh, I'm not upset...
    Him: So what's your name?
    Me: CoCo
Him: Nice meeting you CoCo, can I have your number?
Me: Uhh, I don't think that's gonna happen. I don't even live in this county anymore...
Him: Where you be staying now?
Me: I 'be staying' in MoCo..
    Him: Dayam....way out near DC?
Me:  I guess MoCo is closer to DC than St. Mary's, so yea...
Him: Aight, so just keep doing that thing you do.
    Me: ...:ugh2:...
Him: Remember the car! <drives away>
Me: <calls Ferron to ask what 'remember the car' means in this situation>

Yea, I was being a lil bitchy, but Ferron and I really had a huge meal (that was now getting cold) to eat, and an entire series to watch... I just didn't have time for him right then. AND he had some other homothug in his passenger seat. [Side note: Feron was a lil upset with me for not bringing them both back to his place. But I knew we would never have finished the entire series that way.]

Try the grocery store, I seem to find dates there. Usually they are in the fruit, errr..I mean produce, than in the beef, err...meat section :)

    CoCo: Are you American-Indian?

If not, that would be an odd name to give a child. It would be like me (white) naming my kid Asuka or Miguel o_O

I've been told this by more than one person, and it doesn't seem to work like that where I live. Almost every decent-looking guy at the supermarkets I go to is with some girl, and I don't think they're the guys' hags.

...try a pretentious 'market'. Stay away from the organic health stores (those are for the lesbians), but aim for the markets with the fresh herbs and spices, cute butchers, and twinks for full service bag bois (they bag and carry your groceries to your car). They are usually in the queer money districts (in my area, that's Georgetown, Dupont, and Mount Vernon).

I met my significant other on a blind date that was set up by a mutual friend...

Actually, she wasn't a mutual friend as much as a random woman I met at a party who had been engaged to my SO at one time.

But, I had no luck finding a long-term relationship at a bar or a club, or even at the gym.
