we had two photographers for our wedding, but I only wanted them to send me their edited/corrected/whatever files on DVD ... I didn't want them to do prints or an album or anything.

I've looked at WHCC, and have heard really good things about them.

    Where else should I look?

    si si, pedro.

i did a cheapo Blurb book for a buddy's wedding (just to try it out), and surprisingly, people like it better than their actual wedding album

i guess i really am extremely badass.

i just bought a epson stylus 1400 and a HP k8600, both wide format(13x19 or smaller).

The espon does AMAZING prints. The HP will be going back tomorrow.

Office Depot is having a sale for $250 for the epson, which is a steal.

cost about $1 per 8x10 full color.

$285 for the album, calendar and 50 promo books and 2nd day air from Italy.

I think it was a 10x14, but they have a lot of sizes. Metal, Fabric, Leather and Acrylic covers. That was teh metallic pages, but the have 4 options there too.

Graphi is definitely on the best priced side, especially if you need more than 1. For just 1 I'm going to start using ASA for my main books though.

    - i have a Canon Pro9000 printer ... but i don't want to print them myself.

    - no budget. it's our wedding album, so i'll spend whatever

    - i'm going to do the layout

    - that Graphi album looks great. I like the thick pages. I plan on making it pretty large (maybe 50 pages?).

    - leather-bound would be nice.

is there a "rolls royce" of wedding album makers? something that's really f'n impressive? i'd just like to see what something like that would look like.

also, i see that most places use Roes ... is there an offline version of that program i can use? We're going to S.Africa & will be on the plane quite a bit - it would be nice to be able to put an album together then.

note that many places you need to show your a photo business to access pricing and submit orders.

every place is different, most that I mentioned accept our own designs via InDesign, but have different requirements for uploading. You really need to pick the company first :hs:

KISS wedding books is really nice quality, and the best customer service but 0 options.

mojito, From looking at the website(graphi), it seems as though you just send them your pictures, and they cut/crop/edit them in the way they want for the book layout?

you can, and many other places will design them as well. But you pay a ton for that service.

Usually you have the choice between:
Bind only, you send them prints already designed, they bind it and send back
Print and bind (my choice), you or someone else designs it, they print it and bind it
Design, print and bind, you get hte idea

The problem with printing yourself is many don't except inkjet prints, and you lose a lot of time ordering in prints, especially if page is ruined and it has to be reordered. They also won't warranty the pages, just the cover then.

If you aren't good with designing them, Albumesque is a great 3rd party. Pictage is you sign up with them has free designs, but you hve to use their vendors

ok, so I assume the above pics/price are from you sending it to them already designed, and they printed and binded it?

Im just asking because I really like the metallic look, and just getting a rough estimate.

do you have any more pis of it?
