Do you just bring it to any dry cleaners or some shit?
any where I have ever got jeans hemmed, they have been fucked up.
I gave up on it. I was getting tired of wasting money.
i do it or my mom does it
i go to a lady in the mall for 10 bucks.
Local italian suit maker. He did my jeans for $13 even.
Just make sure you tell them to not iron them (no press) or else they will for sure. I remember someone on sufu had a pair of jeans that he had hemmed, and they pressed a huge crease down each leg. Looked funny as hell, he was so pissed.
I'm just worried they are going to make it shorter but ill lose that bottem thing. hahahaha
what bottom thing? you mean like the yellow/orange thread that leaves like half an inch of denim at the bottom?
That's like part of hemming denim, I'm pretty sure they'll put it there. Take in a shitty pair of jeans if you're that worried.
Any decent place will cut off the bottom hem, take off the excess material and sew the hem back on.
that's what good places do
they hem the original hem back up onto the garment, then cut off the excess, then the old hem flaps over
the korean drycleaner/tailor, but i dont hem shit anymore since they fucked up an expensive pair one time
intresting...ive never thought twice about the quality of my jeans after getting hemmed...only worried about them fitting..since i have short legs and all
This place in Chinatown that does original hem. $7 and do a great job.
i can goto chinatown....i'm in SF quite often.
just be careful how much you take off. if you hem too much, when you go to wash the ankle will ride up too high, thus being ruined. happened to me, 150 down the drain
you ended up w/ highwaters after the first wash? lol
You're much better off leaving it a bit longer. Also, I would recommend measuring it yourself, I have a feeling that if you went in and had them measure you they wouldn't compensate for inseam shrinkage.
For instance, go in and just say "I want 3 inches taken off" or w/e
the guy hemmed em up to the sole of my shoe.
isn't the sole the bottem of your shoe?
denim doctor if you're in LA
i think short to him is way to long for the rest of us
yeah. where the jeans meet the ground.
so..how is that....short? you want your jeans to go under your shoes?
no, they were going under my shoes before getting hemmed, they covered my whole foot. this was over 2 years ago though, and they were only a pair of energies
well, when you factor in the one inch+ shrinkage of the inseam, he has a pair of denim that is hemmed like some suit pants. with no break.
two different styles.
OHHH...i thought you meant they hemmed them and then you washed and washed and washed...and they ended up at the sole. which would seem to be good for me.
i guess they shrank an itch and you were an inch higher than what i thought you had.
