I dunno, but Ive been considering getting a battery grip since itd be nice to have the extra batteries and Id prob. have less crooked(sp) vertical shots. Are there any other advantages that Im unaware of?

Plus the fact that it looks better to me.

Battery, perhaps. Ergonomics-wise, the A2e/5 + VG10 rocks. My D30's batt-grip is still way better than any of the newer stuff too. Chalkboard eraser FTL. Wires FTMFL :ugh:

LOL, that thread is like Lexar and Canon. I think someone got butthurt. For those that missed it, it went something like this:

threadstarter: HAY GUYZ. I GOTS A NEW GRIPS FOR MY FULL FRAME DIGITAL REBEL

reply 1: LOL, that grip is not very ergonomic, and the battery compartment feels cheap like the CF door of the FULL FRAME DIGITAL REBEL

threadstarter: NO ITS NOT, ITS COOL. IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, YOU ARE GAY OR HAVE SMALL HANDS

reply 2: the grip is bulky and ugly, but at least its magnesium alloy.

threadstarter: CHUT UP! ITS THE ONLY CHOICE I HAVE! BESIDES, I HAVE MORE MEGARPicksels THAN YOU, AND I SAVED ONE THOUSAND DOLLARZ!

reply 2: Whatever dude, that shit is ugly and looks like a chalkboard eraser. Here are 2 pics that show how terrible it looks compared to a body with built in grip.

threadstarter: GEEEE, I NEVER TAKE PICTURES OF CAMERAS TO SHOW DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THEM, YOU ARE GAY! AND AN ASSHOLE! YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY IN THAT 'CREW' THAT'S OUT TO GET ME!

reply 2: Don't get butthurt. I know you want to show off your new toy and all, but you gotta face the facts. Its ugly, and doesn't grip very well.

threadstarter: :wtc: :wtc: I'M GOING TO DELETE THIS THREAD :wtc:

probably a cover for the eye piece for long exposure, preventing stray light from entering through the viewinder -- or something to keep it from falling off
