I wanted to buy a plate rack to start shooting at but after googling and seeing they cost 1000 dollars I figured I can make my own way cheaper.

    So anyone have any ideas?

How are you going to cut it? There's a guy on the hide who's selling water-cut AR500 targets for pretty cheap.

  6. There's a lot that goes into the making of a plate rack, especially if it has a feature to reset the plates all at once. Even if it doesn't, you still have to have something to protect the axle the plates rotate on, something to stop the plates as they fall, mounts for the plates, and adjustment screws so you can tune the impact needed to knock down the plate. Of course, you also need the structure of the thing itself. I'm not surprised that they cost $1k.
