I've seen a few posts scattered here and there for awhile about people buying a Mosin-Nagant for cheap and have found a few websites that sell them cheap but am not sure to trust them since they're websites i've never heard of. for those of you who have picked up 1 of these suckers cheap, did you get them from private parties or from a web dealer? and if it was a web dealer and you had a good experience buying thru them please let me know which site.

sorta looking for an old rifle and these look like they could be fun for the price especially

I bought mine at Cabela's and overpaid :hs:

In my defense, I knew very little about guns at the time, since it was the first rifle I have ever purchased, and only my second gun overall (first was a Glock 22 that I needed for a duty weapon).

    $185 :o

It's in really nice shape, but that still doesn't make up for it. I didn't get a sling or tool kit with it either :hs:

Must have been out on Swan and the parkway...yeah, they do that sometimes. It's fun to watch :mamoru:

Two from Dunham's, m44 for $49.99 and a m91 for $59.99. Picked up a 91/30 from an army/navy store here for $90 just last month. Not a great price but not bad recently.

several years ago, like 2000, people suddenly discovered that eastern europe was money poor, and had hundreds of thousands of mosin nagants, and that the US was money rich, and would buy them.

    that was 9 years ago.

tomorrow on story time we'll talk about what's so special about uncommon rounds that makes people pay extra for both the guns and the ammo.

    carry . . . in . . . mosin?

I generally sling it over my shoulder walk to the car and put it on the back seat.

well I have plenty of cases I could put it in, from the soft ones where you simply slip it in to a plastic 12 dollar case from some sporting goods store to a soft zippered case.

What do you need the case for, range rules, the law, aircraft travel, wife doesn't like looking at it?

Just get a cheap, shitty, soft sided rifle case.

This was back in 2000 that's why they were dirt cheap. Dunham's had them for years at 50-60 a pop. I wish at the time I would've bought more but I was a poor college student at the time. Strangely enough that's why I bought one in the first place.
