When you were cutting, how long did it take to see noticable results?

I started cutting about 3 weeks ago....this is my normal routine now:

    up at 6

    protein shake at 6:15

Gym at 6:35...I hit the weights for 40 minutes, then do 20 min of HIIT

Breakfast at around 8 am...usually egg beaters, or oatmeal.

Then work all day...lunch usually consists of either a small sandwich with avocado, red onion, tomato, lettuce, sprouts and 1 slice of pepperjack cheese...or a bowl of fat free cottage cheese, and carrot sticks.

Snacks: carrot sticks, apples, bananas, oranges

After work, another cardio workout..30-35 min of solid cardio. (usually about 400 calories killed)

Dinner is again..egg beaters, in a fat free tortilla with fat-free cheese and salsa...then maybe a glass of warm 1% milk before i go to bed.

I've read all the F&N Stickies...I decided to make a change and stop eating unhealthy. Around my lovehandles and top of stomach, im about 37''. My waist (under that) is about 32''. I want the flat stomach again :(

I've been doing this for 3 weeks, but havent' really had many noticeable physical changes....is that normal? :hsd: Just wondering..

wow, with a diet like that, it looks like you're consuming like 1200 calories :ugh:
and you're doing way too much cardio, assuming you're doing that everyday.

you're going to lose all your muscle mass (whatever you have left at 175lbs @ 5'11) if you keep that up. search for a thread on how to properly cut.

yeah ... lifting, hiit (especially with 20min sessions :ugh: ) AND cardio again in one day is way overkill.
looks like you're barely even getting ~100g protein with your diet. re-evaluate your diet and your cardio plan.

how seen you see results is usually dependent upon your body type, and current standings are. For instance, someone that is pretty over-weight and usually eats unhealthy or over-eats will see results pretty quickly.. where as someone like yourself whom is already pretty thin, but just looking to get rid of that extra layer of "flub" might need longer to see decent results. After 3 weeks though, you should notice something.
From your diet, I would assume your a vegetarian, or atleast do not eat any red meat. I suggest adding some meats in your diet because your only source of protein seems to be comoing from the shakes you take and those egg beaters. When you make that sandwich for lunch try to add some meat to it, like a tuna, sliced chicken, or turkey.

You are eating very little, and doing a lot of cardio. I dont think you problem is fat, I think you problem is lack of muscle. My advise is you eat a little more meat in your diet (tuna, chicken, etc...) instead of doing so much cardio, hit the weights harder. You should be doing cardio for say 30min 2-3 times a week, and spend more time lifting, like atleast 3 times a week for an 1-2 hours at a time. and dont forget to work those abs!

ok, yeah.. I figured. can you eat any fish? If so, tuna and other fish are your best friend ;)

If fish is not an option then look for more "hearty" meals that are going to be relatively low in fat, but offer good amounts of nutrients and particularly PROTEIN. as I said, you biggest problem is that you are not getting enough food and not lifting enough. Losing weight is not always just running and cutting fat. If you are already slim (as you seem @ 5' 11" 175) then you just need to put on more muscle. all that cardio and lack of food/lifting will actually decrease your muscle. You need to put more protein in your body (other sources than shakes though), eat more food, and start doing more lifting and less cardio. Dont stop with the cardio, but a few times a week for 20-30min at a time is MORE than enough. Then take that extra time and put some hours in at the gym, lifting for 1-2 hours a few times a week, including a good amount of ab exercises if you want to trim up around the belly :bigthumb:

I saw results in 2 weeks. My diet/lift schedule is in the training logs. My ECY stack seems to help as well.

Read the Noob sticky in the archives to calculate how many calories you should be taking in each day. Make sure that you eat at least 1g per pound of body weight. Plus the rest of what every one said.

I can usually look in the mirror after about day 3 or 4 and tell that I've lost some fat when I diet, specifically around my waist.
