WHen you guys started DL what weight did you start out at.

    This is one exercise i've never really done but I want to start, problem is i am weak as all hell when it comes to doing these...and I always feel like im doing them wrong...is there any way to build up to these or?

    315x3 but that was a huge mistake

    just start slow

    If i could do it over again I woulda worked out with like 185-225 but I had an ego back then and back pain now.

    225x2, i did a bunch of warmup sets before.

    i could have gone higher, but my forearms were bumpin and it was messing with my grip

    I think I hit 315 for a few reps first time I ever pulled.

    just throw 135 on there and see how you handle it, go from there, its not fucking rocket surgery

    Before i started doing deadlifts (because i didn't even know they existed...we're all fucking noobs at one point) i was using the Back Extension machine. Its a similar motion, but since your arms aren't involved, its nothing like deadlifting

    it's also probably because the back extension primarily hits the the lower back and is a single joint movement. the deadlift is a multi-joint, compound movement that hits just about every muscle on the body

    First time I pulled I maxed ~ 350-360. That was around August, by Jan 4th I pulled 540, then June pulled 589, locked out 601 but was redlighted for a slight hitch.

    how big were u and how long were u lifting?

    i hadn't DLd until recently and my first time was like 1.5 years ago.
    i did around 350 my first time.

    The first time i tested my max (couple months ago) i pulled a really ugly 215

    like 135 then to 225 quickly but I was worried about form so much I stopped for awhile

    3 plates on a trap bar back in high school soph or junior year....didn't do them again until 2.5 years ago...

    pulled 565 about a month ago...
